We are a dedicated group of parents & community members working to save Island Park Elementary School and prevent consolidation of our elementary schools.

We believe the negative impacts on our children with 2-3 moves throughout the process of consolidation, and the closing of our centrally located elementary school will be both detrimental and damaging to the community and students.

We also believe it is not the correct time to place a very large bond issue on an upcoming ballot with a recession, a downgrade in credit rating for the island, and record layoffs in the region.

We ask the School Board to explore additional proposals that do not include closing Island Park and do not consolidate our elementary schools.
